Reports to: Vice President of Personal Lines and Small Commercial
As a Sales Manager, you’ll do more than manage performance—you’ll help individuals start and grow a fulfilling career in insurance. Whether they’re new to the industry or transitioning into sales, your leadership will inspire confidence, sharpen their skills, and open the door to long-term success.
1. Inspire, Motivate & Build Culture
Create a high-energy, supportive environment where agents feel empowered to grow. Lead with vision, foster accountability, and drive a culture of continuous learning, purpose, and achievement.
2. Drive Sales Performance & Coaching
Monitor, analyze and report weekly sales performance by agent, trends, and conversion metrics. Provide targeted coaching for underperformers, advanced development for top producers, and align activity with carrier and company goals.
3. Recruit, Onboard & Develop Talent
Proactively identify, recruit, and onboard new agents while supporting their career launch through licensing, mentorship, and structured onboarding programs. Strategically expand the team across markets and customer segments.
4. Strengthen Lead Generation & Market Strategy
Collaborate with marketing and leadership to improve lead quality, expand lead flow, and target high-potential markets. Remove sales bottlenecks by addressing lead gaps, staffing, or process inefficiencies. Help agents stay focused on key carrier goals such as product bundling, volume targets, and underwriting quality.
5. Training, Incentives & Long-Term Growth
Deliver ongoing training on products, tools, and industry trends. Maintain motivational incentive programs, reward achievement, and provide mentorship that helps agents achieve long-term career success while improving client impact and retention. Organize regular training sessions, role plays, and best-practice sharing. Develop onboarding programs for new hires.
1. Must pass background-check
2. 5+ years of P&C insurance experience, required. Active P&C license
3. 3+ years of sales management experience, required
4. Sales Aptitude & Sales Skills (communication, persuasion, prospecting, outbound calling, negotiation and closing skills)
5. PC Skills including MS Office are required; having a technology-oriented attitude is a mustHigher education is a plus
6. Proactive team member, effective collaborator and proactive mindset is a must
7. Ability to effectively organize tasks, manage time, being results-driven and capable of working to tight deadlines
